Fertile Window And Ovulation

Upgrade to Tempdrop premium for Ovulation estimates and verification based on your cycle and temperature data.

Ovulation and Fertile Window Predictions

See your next fertile window and ovulation estimated on the home screen and in the chart view. The day dots on your main circle will change visually to show you whether your fertile window is currently predicted or has been officially verified by your temperature data.

  • Before Ovulation (Predicted Window): Your estimated fertile days are displayed as hollow teal outlines (empty circles) with the fertility wheel. Your predicted ovulation day is marked with a wavy line symbol (~) inside one of these hollow dots. During this time, the text in the center of your wheel will explicitly say "predicted" (e.g., "5 Days to predicted ovulation").
  • After Ovulation (Confirmed/Verified): Once Tempdrop detects your temperature shift and confirms ovulation, your fertile window dots will change to solid, filled-in teal circles. Your confirmed ovulation day will update to show a solid teal dot with an outline around it. The text in the center of your wheel will also update to show exactly how many days you are "past ovulation" as you transition into the Luteal Phase.

Note: Initial predictions are based on your onboarding data and cycle averages. These predictions will continuously adapt and become more accurate as you log more cycles in the app.

Predictions can be helpful, but ovulation timing can change in any cycle. Don’t rely on estimates for fertility decisions—daily observation of your body’s signs will accurately help you discern your fertility status. If you pass your predicted ovulation date, keep tracking your symptoms until ovulation is verified.

Please note: Predictions are not available for those with irregular cycles. Learn more about using Tempdrop with irregular cycles here.

Real-time Fertility Tracking

If you choose to chart cervical mucus, your fertile window will update as soon as you record your first observation. At this point, the fertile window changes from light teal (predicted) to dark teal (based on your real-time observations).

Because cervical mucus reflects your body’s current fertility signs, this fertile window may differ from the app’s initial prediction.

Cervical mucus signals that ovulation may be approaching and opens our real-time fertile window. This window may last longer than a week.

Cervical Mucus Cross-Check Option

In the Tempdrop app there is a setting to apply a Cervical Mucus Cross-Check. By enabling this setting, ovulation will be verified only if both a valid Peak day and a temperature shift are identified in close succession.
